It is defining as the watery diarrhea for three or more times a day after taking certain medications for bacterial infection. Generally, it is non-serious condition and required no treatment except fluid consumption.
Symptoms
Signs and symptoms are mild and include following:
- Watery diarrhea
- Nausea
- Increase bowel movements
- Low grade abdominal pain
- Loss of appetite
- Fever
Causes
Exact cause of this is still unknown but it is assumed thar certain medications like antibiotic to treat the bacterial infection may cause the diarrhea by disturbing the stomach normal flora like cephalosporins and ampicillin etc.
Complications
One of the most common complication of diarrhea is the loss of fluids and electrolytes which further cause the other complications like shock, renal failure etc.
