It is defined as the tingling, numbness and burning sensation at your thigh area. The most common cause the nerve compression which supply the skin of the thigh.

Causes
The actual cause of meralgia paresthetica is the compression of later cutaneous femoral nerve which supply the sensory stimulation to the thigh.Common causes include:
- Obesity
- Tight clothing
- Pregnancy
- Scar tissue
- Heavy tool belt
Diagnosis
After taking your medical history your doctor conducting a physical test to check the functioning of your leg and reflexes and might recommend the following test to diagnosis the causes:
- Nerve conduction studies to exclude the other causes
- Imaging studies help to show the inner condition of thigh and rule out the cause
- Help to evaluate muscle and nerve disorder.
Treatment
Sometime it may resolve on its own within few weeks but sometime it required treatment:
- Wore loose cloths
- Weight loose
- Taking pain killer
- Steroids injection to reduce inflammation and pain
- Tricyclic antidepressants for nerve pain
- Surgery to cut the nerve or decompress it.
