Soft, painless and benign growth on the lining of nasal passage and sinuses are known as nasal polyps. They are characterized by teardrops or grape like structure hanging down from the lining. Nasal polyps can result from chronic inflammation due to asthma, recurring infection, allergies, drug sensitivity and certain immune disorders.

Causes

Immune system responses and different chemical markers in the mucous membrane play role in the appearance of polyp. Onset age is usually young and middle aged adults.
