Pinworm Infection

It is defined as the intestinal infection cause by pinworm. It is the most common infection worldwide. The length of pinworm ranges 6-13 millimeters. It is commonly occurred in school going children.

Symptoms

Causes

It is cause by the pinworm eggs which may be swallowing accidentally through the contaminated food and water. Pinworm produce their eggs at anal region which developed into worms after few weeks.

Urinary tract infections
Female genital infections
Weight loss

After taking history your doctor might perform a physical examination to check the presence of any causative organism and recommend the tape test to check the presence of eggs.

The first aim is to treat the signs and symptoms and relive the pain and itching, medications for pinworm infections include:

Pain killer
Anti-allergic for itching
Mebendazole for killing of parasites
Albendazole is more effective anti-parasites
